What to expect.

Staying at Manicou River is a true nature experience.

Each hand-built wooden cottage has stunning views across the forest to the Cabrits National Park and the Caribbean sea.

Humming birds, glowing fireflies and tiny lizards are just some of the wildlife that will visit you in your cottage. (Despite the abundance of colourful creatures, Dominica has no dangerous spiders or snakes.)

Manicou River is totally off-grid. All of our plumbing is rainwater and all of our electricity is solar-powered, making us one of the only 100% energy self-sufficient hotels on the island.

The cottages are spaced well apart and surrounded by trees offering peace and privacy. Each is a spacious 500ft2/50m2.

The furniture is hand-made with local wood and includes a king-size bed with natural latex and bamboo mattress, 100% cotton bed linen and a 100% cotton mosquito net. The fully equipped kitchen includes a small refrigerator and gas stove and the en-suite bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.

And for those who like to stay connected while in nature, we have hi-speed wifi in all the cottages and the restaurant.

What our guests say...

"We felt like we were in the rainforest but with beautiful luxury of comfortable beds, hammocks, and warm showers."
